About
My research is broadly concerned with the social aspects of world water problems, as they are experienced at the local level in developed nations. How do different groups participate in and respond to problems such as toxic risks to drinking water; climate change contributing to extreme events such as droughts and floods; and changing water infrastructure needs as systems age or populations create new demands? A central question seeks to understand how scientific expertise is used by government, corporations, and citizens as they deal with these problems. Who has power in shaping the solutions, who is marginalized, and why?
I am interested in connecting with others who are working on these issues.
